The Bairnsdale Rowing Club train and host rowing events on the picturesque Mitchell River which runs through the heart of Bairnsdale in East Gippsland, Victoria.

With long, calm straights of pristine water, the Mitchell River is an ideal location for competitive rowing. The high banks protect the waterway from wind and there is very little boating traffic. Rowing boats can be launched at Howitt Park, right beside the Mitchell River Bridge.

Every Saturday morning the club holds a "Learn 2 Row" program. This is a great way for anybody interested, men, women and children, to come down and try rowing as part of a team and individually.

Around August or September each year, the Bairnsdale Rowing Club host the "Heads of the Mitchell River Rowing Regatta". Our marque rowing events over 2 km and 5 km attract competitors from rowing clubs around Victoria.
