About us:
The Bairnsdale Rowing Club is a vibrant and dynamic community club catering for all ages and levels of rowing expertise. In 2022 the Club is celebrating 150 years of rowing and fellowship.
Originally established in Bairnsdale in 1872, the boathouse is now located near the Mitchell Bridge and members launch their sculls or sweep boats on the east bank of the heritage listed Mitchell River at the rowing jetty.
Rowing Australia recognised the exceptional achievements and inclusiveness of the Bairnsdale Rowing Club Inc by awarding the club the AON Club of the Year in the 2018 Australian Rower of the Year Awards. This prestigious award is the pinnacle recognition a club can achieve within the Australian rowing community.
The Club is administered by a volunteer committee elected by members at an AGM each September. Equipment, including rowing boats, and general club facility improvements are funded by money raised by it's members.
Bairnsdale Rowing Club Inc hosts the Head of the Mitchell Regatta annually.
