Head of the Mitchell is the annual regatta held on the beautiful Mitchell River in Bairnsdale, East Gippsland.
Each year, crews from all accross Victoria visit Bairnsdale to take part in the event, with distances set at either 3km or 5km.
The 2024 regatta is looking to be our biggest one yet with a full weekend of activities planned. See the flyer or read on below.
Saturday 12th October
Register for our regatta on Rowing Manager.
- 5km Head Race. 10:00am (rowers launch at 9:00am)
- 3km Head Race. 1:30pm (rowers launch at 1:00pm)
- Catering available - breakfast, lunch, coffee
- Post event bar with local wines and craft beer
- Warm down dinner at local venue. Includes two course meal, music and Red Faces. Tickets can be purchased here.
Sunday 13th October
- DIY Time Trials and Training
- Frocktober in the Boat - Award for most creatively attired crew
- Yoga on the lawn (BYO yoga mat)
